About Mr. KuhlesHello! My name is Karl Kuhles, and I am proud to be a part of the Huskie family here at Reno High School. I currently I teach the three-year Civil Engineering & Architecture Program, along with Shop 2.0, and Computer Science & Applications. It is my goal is to bring my real-world experience as an engineer into the classroom and share it with my students, and show them how science and mathematics can be used to shape the world around us. I attended Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, where I received a BS in Civil Engineering and worked as as a geotechnical engineer in Fairbanks, AK. While it was my dream job and was able to see and do many incredible things (see below), I still felt something was lacking. I reflected upon the satisfaction both of my parents felt as teachers in Washoe County and I decided to make the change. I completed my Master of Arts in Teaching at Sierra Nevada College in 2015, and I'm excited to bring everything that I have learned into my classroom.
